1. Sections

Start by defining the main stages or phases of the project. This makes it possible to structure the project into logical blocks, facilitating the planning of tasks and milestones.

To add a section, you have two options:

  1. Add the section from the “Tasks” tab in your workspace in the drop-down menu of the blue button named Add a task → Add a section

💡 Create the sectiondirectly in the Gantt by clicking on the blue button “+ Add a section” at the top left

2. Milestones

Then identify the key moments of the project, such as important deadlines, validations or major objectives. Milestones serve as strategic milestones to structure project progress and ensure that everything stays aligned with overall goals.

  1. To add a milestone, go to the “Tasks” tab in the workspace in the drop-down menu of the blue button named Add a task Add a milestone

💡 You can also convert a task into a milestone, directly in the Gantt chart

In both cases, the detail panel opens and you can define key information such as title, deadline, priority, manager, etc.

3. Tasks

You can add a task from the “Tasks” tab in your workspace

💡 You can also add a task directly in the Gantt by clicking on the gray “+ Add a task” button

In both cases, the detail panel opens and you can define key information such as its title, start and due dates, priority, manager, etc.

4. Dependencies

You can link your tasks to visualize the relationships between them. For example: if a task depends on the completion of another, you can set up a dependency to create visual links. These links help you identify priorities and potential delays.

To add a dependency you can do it directly from the task detail panel, on the 3 vertical points at the top right.

Even better, you can link two tasks by a dependency directly on the diagram in a very visual way, by connecting the circles to the left and right of task A with task or milestone B.

💡 If this task is linked by another with a dependency, WEDO will inform you immediately to ask you if you are sure you want to complete this task before its dependencies have not been completed.

5. Start date and due date

If you need to set or correct a start or due date, simply modify the task as usual directly in its detail panel. The Gantt chart will be updated directly.

💡 You can also change the duration of the task by dragging the end or start of the task onto the chart with the mouse.

💡 You can also move the task forward or backward in the same way directly in the diagram.
